Sarah L. Waddoups

Attorney in Rogers, AR

Areas of Practice:

Appellate Law; Probate; Estate Planning

I am a transplant to Northwest Arkansas, but my husband and I have lived here for twenty-five years. We have raised our children in Rogers, and this is home. I grew up in Wyoming and earned my Bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University in 2000. I graduated from the University of Arkansas School of Law in 2004 with highest honors. During law school I served as the Executive Editor of the Arkansas Law Review and as a chairperson on the Board of Advocates. Since earning my degree, I have happily practiced law with Matthews, Campbell, Rhoads, McClure & Thompson, P.A.

My practice consists of estate planning and appeals. Estate planning involves setting up trusts, last wills, powers of attorney, and similar documents as well as dealing with probate cases. I very much enjoy assisting couples and individuals plan for their future. Over the last twenty years, I have successfully represented numerous clients on appeal to the Arkansas Supreme Court and Arkansas Court of Appeals. I like the in-depth research and writing necessary for an effective appeal.

Outside of the practice of law, I am the mother of two teenage children. I also grow orchids and have horses. My collection of orchids consists of hundreds of plants, so I have flowers every day of the year. My passion for orchids has taken me to far-flung places around the world, including conservation projects in remote areas of Africa. While riding my horses, I have been able to explore Northwest Arkansas and have enjoyed the pleasure of spending time with others who love our beautiful state.

Although not often used in Arkansas, I speak two Filipino languages, Illongo and Cebuano, as the result of an 18-month mission trip in the Philippines. I also speak French, which has been particularly useful during my orchid trips to Africa. Having spent quite a bit of time in developing countries, I am grateful to be an American and feel a strong obligation to help others.

Volunteering in ways that improve our community is important to me and is also a part of my religious beliefs. I am actively involved in the Rogers congregation of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have volunteered as both a director and teacher of the church’s youth group for pre-teen and teenage girls. I have also served as the assistant director of the children’s Sunday School program. In addition, I have been an active volunteer in our public schools and throughout the community.
